Bakermat has no ‘Trouble’ bearing his soul on new single

What do you get when you cross a dancefloor with soul-laden, blues-infused vocals?

You get “Trouble”, the new single from Dutch DJ Bakermat. The Netherlands native collaborates with soulful singer and songwriter Albert Gold, of Hackney, East London in this bluesy yet upbeat melodic hit.

The new single. released on the Ultra Music label, represents a throwback to the sounds that influenced Bakermat early — soul, jazz and dance music. It’s evident on this track with the fusion of live horns, soulful vocals and smooth house vibes.

“I think the main thing that makes this track special is it’s bittersweet feeling,” Bakermat explained. “It’s sad, but also comforting and uplifting.”

The Dutch DJ and producer says he made “Trouble” at a time in his life when everything was less perfect.

“I felt that trouble was literally following me, without leaving me alone,” Bakermat said. “This song is about standing up against this feeling.”

DJ Bakermat’s alter ego, an animated pup named Matt Barker, makes his second appearance in the music video for “Trouble.” We first met Matt in the video for an earlier Bakermat hit, “Partystarter.”

It’ll be fun to see the next chapter of Matt Barker’s story.
